Everest Region Set in the area known as the Solu-Khumbu, home to the famous Sherpa people, Mount Everest's unique dominance as the world's highest mountain, at 8848m (29208ft), draws people from all parts of the globe, as if by magnetism, to gaze in awe upon its grandeur..
